The question to ask yourself may not be, “What is important for me to do next?” That is a great question, and it is not necessarily the first question. Maybe, “What do I want?” is the first question. If you ask about the next step before you know what you really want, you may not get to where you want to go. I am not saying that it is a must to know exactly where you want to go. For instance, you may not know exactly where you want to live, but you may know that what you want is a laid back, bucolic lifestyle. So without knowing exactly where you want to be, you can start to eliminate some places where you are not likely to get this lifestyle you want, like large cities. Or you may know that you want to live in a metropolitan area where you can live without a car and walk to everything you need, and that would rule out rural areas where the closest grocery store is 45 minutes away by car. Once again you do not need to know exactly where you want to be, but it is important to know what you want.
