Learn how to create a safe container. Imagine drawing a circle on the ground and then stepping inside with a friend to have a conversation. With intention you both have declared that within this space all interactions are treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality. Actually drawing a circle is not necessary. This is mostly an energetic and verbal practice that can be created with anyone, from one good friend to a whole conference full of strangers. What is important is the acknowledgement to honor that being human is a vulnerable experience, so we are going to make an effort, to the very best of our ability, to help each other feel safe. It often makes sense to establish some guidelines in writing as well, e.g. what is true for one does not have to be true for you. Remember we are all worthy of respect, and creating a safe container is one way to demonstrate that.
