It’s okay to end things. Sometimes you get caught up in something that feels like it’s a wonderful thing that will never end, and then things change. Things evolve, people change: they have babies, their kids leave the nest, they retire, they just get into something new. That’s okay, because things do change – it’s a part of life. Nobody has to be bad for things to change – they just do. And it’s okay to acknowledge the change, and to let go of what once was. Think of it this way: things were great the way they were, and now you are making space in your life for another great thing to come along. Don’t hang onto to something so long that resentments start to color your memories of what was. When something is over, let it be over and welcome whatever new shows up.
