When teaching my small child, I must remind myself to use the same manners with him that I am asking him to use with me. He deserves that. Why am I surprised when I notice myself fall short? Perhaps because I assume that I have good manners. Perhaps it’s time to raise my own bar so that my ideas and my actions can be in sync.
