I recommend vulnerability, even knowing that it is almost always uncomfortable. Vulnerability is where the growth happens, and I am all for growth. It is also important to remember that it is up to you where, when, and around whom you are vulnerable. You get to choose, so choose wisely. You may not want to be as vulnerable around some people or in some circumstances – that is okay. It does not make you a bad person. And you may change your mind; today you may not be up to vulnerability around someone, and tomorrow you may be. I repeat – this does not make you a bad person. It is up to you; the choice is yours.
