Not everyone can be there for everything. The person who held your hand through cancer might not be able to cheer you on when you lose weight, or leave your job to go back to school. That’s OK. Accept love and support when it comes your way, take it at face value, and be grateful. Know that even if a particular person can’t be present with you in your current circumstances, there will be someone who can. The world is a big place, and the currency of life is loving kindness.
