There is no shame in needing or asking for help. And there is no list of ‘appropriate’ help that you are allowed to ask for. So if you need the help of someone to listen to you while you work through a problem or to do your dishes because you haven’t got the energy to do them – ask someone. Ask a spouse, a kid, a friend, or hire a professional. Talking to a therapist or hiring a house cleaning service may be a more expensive form of help, but it is still help. Ask for the help you need.
