Inhale Hold Exhale Hold

There is so much going on in the world right now that sometimes I get this overwhelming feeling of dread that is hard to shake. That overwhelming feeling leads to anxiety, which makes me feel more overwhelmed, which leads to more anxiety – you get the picture.  As I have unfortunately experienced this before, I do have a method that I use to get me out of that vicious cycle. It is pretty easy, and I invite you to try it if you are experiencing the same thing. It consists of inhaling, holding the breath, exhaling, holding the breath, repeat. I do this to a set count – like 4 counts in, 4 counts hold, 4 counts out, 4 counts hold. Regulating my breathing helps bring me back to the moment, which is a good place to be. What works for you?
