Live in the present
When I say let the past go, I am not saying forget the past. The past is part of you; there are lessons to be learned from the past, whether you remember it as good or bad. When I say let the past go, I mean let go of your attachment to the past. “If only” thinking is a sign that you are living in the past. “If only I had done this” or “if only I had done that” doesn’t get you anywhere in the present. Learning whatever lesson there is to be learned from the past informs your present, and enables you to potentially adjust your course. So let the past go – it is done. Live in the present having learned the lessons of the past.
