Here’s the thing: yesterday is not today. Yesterday is over and done. While it is wise to look at yesterday to learn from what happened then, it should be a brief look. Look back long enough to celebrate what went well, and learn from what did not. Dwelling on yesterday does not get you anywhere today. If you did something yesterday that you wish you hadn’t, then don’t do it again today or in the future. If you did something that went well yesterday, consider keeping it in your tool bag for the future, realizing that it may not work the same the next time.
What you did and who you were yesterday does not define you. Today the road ahead of you is new and what lies ahead is waiting to be discovered. Every day wake up with the renewed determination that today will be your best day yet, and proceed accordingly.
