Put one foot in front of the other

Some days I feel like I am done – I can’t do or think about another thing. Everything seems too overwhelming to deal with; I want to just crawl into bed and pull the covers up over my head. What do I do? Sometimes I crawl into bed and pull the covers up over my head – but not for very long. Then I get up, put one foot in front of the other, and get something done. It doesn’t matter what I get done – it might be as small as washing my face. Just completing one thing helps me to remember that I can do it. So I complete one thing, and then I complete the next thing, and then the next. Sometimes just getting started helps me to continue.
